Course Renovations
The course is looking great just a couple of weeks after the coring. Tee blocks have been cored, sanded and seeded too. Weeds are being progressively sprayed off around the course (look carefully in the rough - you will see evidence of broad-leaf dying off in places). Work is still be done on the greens to get them, and keep them disease free. They will also get some food to encourage growth and other grooming agents to promote a firm smooth putting surface. Watch for the speed to pick up for the City of Wellington.
Holes 4 & 5 - Red Pegs/Blue Pegs - Penalty Area Re-Instated
After discussion with TK we have decided to make the rough areas defined by pegs on both holes 4 & 5 penalty areas. It seems fair that a bad shot both ways should be penalised, particularly now that the rough height is more manageable. This change will come in to effect as soon as red pegs can be replaced along the deep treeline on number 5. Number 4 is already defined.
There has been a good response to our adopt a hole shout out. So far holes 1,2,3,5,7,8,and 10 have been snapped up. By adopting a hole you take care of the hole by filling in divots, cleaning up fallen debris (leaving in a pile under nearby trees) and repairing plug marks on the green. Please let Clayton know if you can help. Groups of two or three can make a big difference around the course and help our green-keepers. Thank you to those who have put their hands up.
Cart Use
For the foreseeable future, when cart use is allowed, they must stick to the fairways. If your ball is in the rough, please park on the fairway and walk to your ball. This will stop the wetter areas on the course from being damaged.
