Good evening golfers
There will be no full Cpatain's Corner this week.
For better or worse a small group of us have been helping out the green keepers get the course into good condition for the Halberg Day (Saturday 25 November) and the Champion of Champions (Sunday 26 November).
So sadly there is no time.
More mowing on the agenda for me tomorrow too. Giving back to all those who gave to me in my early golfing days a while ago.
So there are two things, and surprise they are the same two things I wrote about yesterday.
1. First - Volunteers tomorrow and Friday
TK has a list of duties that need doing so please be at the club house at 9am. Ngatau Hemopo will be organising the day as I will be on a mower. There will be something for everyone to do. Lunch will be provided to all volunteers at midday and as usual those who wish to enjoy 9 holes of golf in the afternoon may do so. Every little bit helps. Please wear sturdy footwear, bring a pair of gloves and if you have a weedeater please bring this too. The club has three weedeaters for people to use and the club can ensure that twostroke fuel is available for volunteers to use in their tools. Also bring any other gardening tool(s) as there are some gardens which need a bit of attention.
There is also a Friday group planned but as the weather forecast for Friday is inclement those thinking of being around on Friday may want to change their plans and come tomorrow Thursday.
2. Halberg Day
At this moment 21 entries have been received for this event, a fundraising event organised by the Karori Eagles Foundation and it seems to me that we can do much better than that.
The entry fee is $15 which goes to a worthy charity.
So c'mon let's get entering.
It is always a fun day.
Enter online (https://www.karorigolf.co.nz/event-calendar) or follow the instructions in the poster.
That's all
See many of you tomorrow for a days volunteering, and lots of you on Saturday for the Halberg.
