Ladies
KGC 9H Competition: The putting competition was won by Susan Wright with 18 putts, on a countback from Karen Simcox and Lindsey Pickering. Unfortunately this Tuesday wash a washout! (Cheers Trish)
9H Inter Club: We played Inter Club at Manor Park against Waikanae on Monday and lost 1.5 - 2.5. Both losses were at the last hole; and the half was to a birdie at the last hole. Well done to Karen Simcox who won 4/3 (Cheers Hilary)
Veterans: On Thursday 13th March the second round of Wellington Ladies’ Vets golf was played at Trentham Camp Golf Club. The weather was far better than we expected it to be. Virtually no wind and only Scotch mist to contend with. Live firing on the range made for an interesting sonic background. There were quite a few nine-hole players entered and some 18-hole players from our club. Rose Rigarlsford and Helga Karau played well in the 18 hole section and took home a golf ball each.
Susan Wright won the 9-hole division with 26 points. Karen Simcox and Lindsey Pickering were joint second with 22 points. Trish Titcombe and Kath Robinson also did well and won a golf ball each. Karori Golf Club will be hosting the next round of Wellington Ladies Vets on Thursday April 3rd. (Cheers Susan)
The Sullivan Cup: Is open to all 18H women players, begins 06 April. This is a matchplay knock-out event based on handicap, to be played on weekend days unless players agree to play midweek. Players do not need to qualify. All 18H women members are encouraged to enter, this is the only matchplay trophy for 2025. Please contact denise@karorigolf.co.nz to be included in the draw. Dates are in the programme but can be flexible if required. We are hoping for a full field.
