Kia ora koutou
It is my intention following every committee meeting to inform members what decisions the committee have made and what matters are being worked on.
To this end I will use bulk email but as well as that I will put a hard copy of the minutes on the noticeboard for members to read at their leisure. This will be posted once committee members have had a chance to approve them as a correct record.
This message deals with one issue. The fee increase.
The AGM discussed the matter of a fee increase and while not making a formal decision, the committee listened to what members had to say. As well as that we looked at what our commitments were going to be in the face of rising costs which we are all only too aware of.
So following the AGM, the Committee met on Tuesday 17th to agree membership fees for 2025 renewals. We considered the membership fees of comparable Wellington Clubs, our ongoing operational cost challenges, and the desire for further course improvement.
Recognising the need to balance fee increases with continued affordability for members, the Committee resolved to increase membership fees by 5% across all categories effective 01 January 2025. The committee believes this is fair and keeps us in line with the other clubs of similar quality. It also gives us space to continue the work to develop and improve the course, something we have come to appreciate from TK and his crew.
The Committee also resolved to complete a full review of membership categories, and visitors fees (green fees, carts and the like) before April 2025, with a view to creating new offers to grow our membership base and increase visitor revenues. There have already been green fee increases which took effect in September.
On behalf of the Committee, I hope you will continue to enjoy our amazing course and golf club, and we wish you and your families a very safe and enjoyable holiday period.
Best regards,
Mark Peck
President
