Kia ora koutou,
How fantastic was it to see a full field & clubhouse over the last two weeks for the Club Champs! Congratulations again to David Farmer, Neil Hoskin, Stuart Preston and Silas Campbell for winning their respective divisions of the Stroke Play competition.

Remember, if you need to default your match, please let your opponent and the clubhouse know.  The ‘Match of the Round’ is undoubtedly between Will (Greens staff) & Isaac (Clubhouse staff) - who's gonna prevail fellas!!!  Good luck to all.

9-Hole Midweek Women: It was so good to be able to play after all the weather disruptions and course improvement work. We played an ISTAS competition where you play the course par, rather than a stableford.  The winner who avoided the rough and kept to the fairways (so I’m told) was rewarded appropriately. Congratulations to Kath Robinson who won on a countback from Julie Wilcox.  Third was Chris Suggate on a countback from Elizabeth Wagner. (by Chris Suggate)

Wednesday Club: A field of 24 golfers played a Stableford competition in wonderful weather. A regular visitor, Vinh Phan, was the winner on 37 points with Terry McAlister second with 35 points. Balls given down to 32 points. Mike Suggate was nearest the pin and paid the pig for missing his two. There were no twos on the day. Derek Fitzgibbon won the cash raffle with Peter Wilcox second. Chocolates were enjoyed by those who did not win a prize. (by Patrick Cordue)

**NEW** Friday 9H All-comers: For those wanting to get a sneaky 9H on a Friday morning, 3 x tee times are regularly booked from 9am. The emphasis is on ‘social’ golf. So, if you’re keen to get a quick round in before the weekend, please come along. Thanks to Peter Howman who has kindly offered to facilitate this group.

Summer Twilight Golf: It's back, but on a Wednesday this Summer! Details are:

Course News

Course Renovations: Last week the greens were cored, sanded and fertilised. A huge thanks to TK, Will, Mark P and the valued team of committed volunteers (totalling around 20). We're fortunate to have such great support from our members! Despite missing a day to rain, the work was completed late Friday in time for a full weekend’s play. Due to the renovations, the greens were not able to be mowed this week but still played well, albeit a little slow. They have been mowed today and TK advises they will be “lightning quick” in time for the City of Wellington tournament.

Other areas of the course are looking great, with the fairways exceptional. Some areas of rough are still too wet to mow but will slowly dry out. The course is generally in a much better state than this time last year, primarily due to the significant drainage work undertaken in Autumn. We're making great progress!
